This is your chance to shine by sharing your unique experiences and insights in the realm of small animal nursing. From nurse clinics to critical care, we welcome and encourage diverse case reports that showcase your expertise in any area of small animal nursing.

Successful applicants will present their work in front of their veterinary community peers at Congress and Expo in Manchester, March 20-22 2025.

Encouraging new voices

We welcome case reports from all UK and Overseas veterinary nurses and student nurses, especially those who haven't had the opportunity to lecture before. While this call is open to all, we particularly encourage individuals new to the lecture circuit.

Submission Guidelines

Review the guidelines below before submitting your case report

  • Please submit a short synopsis of the case using the following outline:
    • Introduction – to include the unique or interesting aspect
    • Synopsis of the case – signalment, initial assessment, physical findings, intervention, patient care and recovery, final outcome.
    • Discussion – focus on the specific nursing care and interventions
    • Conclusion - the key nursing points that were learnt from the case, specialised skills and any specialized monitoring equipment used during the case.
  • Due to limited availability, all case reports will be assessed, and successful candidates will be chosen to present at BSAVA Congress and Expo 2025
  • Presentations will be limited to up to 8 minutes, and 2-3 minutes of questions, with the overall session lasting 10 minutes
  • Case report presentations will be evaluated by independent individuals, and an award will be given for the overall best case report. Evaluation guidelines will include the unique aspects of the case, presentation quality, ability to present within a time frame, and response to questions.
  • Successful presenters will be required to attend the event in-person to give their lecture; discounted tickets are available to presenters please contact congress@bsava.com to find out more
  • Applications are welcomed by all UK and Overseas veterinary nurses, and veterinary nurse students
