Emma Cathcart
Emma is the veterinary risk analyst at the Veterinary Defence Society, developing data-driven insights, and working with VDS Training to reduce risk and help build safer systems across the profession. She is experienced in applying systems analysis frameworks and human-centred design processes to optimise performance, outcomes and quality improvement strategies.
Emma is a member of the Chartered Institute of Human Factors and Ergonomics and both a graduate and current tutor for the University of Edinburgh’s Masters in Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors. She is actively involved in research and collaborative initiatives to promote systems thinking and patient safety within the veterinary sector.
