Emily graduated from Cambridge Vet School then worked as a small animal primary-care veterinary surgeon in the midlands. She then moved to teaching Veterinary Nursing Science at Nottingham Trent University, and in 2021 joined the Royal Veterinary College as a Lecturer in Veterinary Education, where she teaches across the post-graduate veterinary education programme. Alongside her teaching, Emily researches novel and non-invasive methods of monitoring body temperature, and heat-related illness in companion animals. Emily and the 'Hot Dogs' research team have investigated the epidemiology, grading and triage of heat-related illness in dogs.
