Closed System Chemo Devices
This practical workshop will introduce veterinary colleagues to closed system transfer devices (CSTDs) which are designed to ensure the safe administration of hazardous/controlled substances to patients, including cytotoxic medications.
Participants will have hands-on direction to manipulate a range of different equipment and administer dummy treatments. The session will be facilitated by specialist trained nurses who will talk through the benefits of using CSTDs and answer any other practical based chemotherapy administration questions, including those on personal protective equipment, patient safety checks, chemotherapy handling etc.
